What if Manifestation wasn't just a vision board and good vibes, but a real repeatable business strategy? Today's guest is living proof that it is. Morgan Hamer is the manifesting mentor, a powerhouse real estate investor, soul aligned business strategist, and founder of Morgan Manifest. She went from broke art major to building a million-dollar rental portfolio in a thriving commercial real estate firm and business brokerage. And she did it all without selling her soul to the hustle. And now she teaches ambitious women how to ditch scarcity, rewire their mindset, and build businesses that don't just look good, but feel good to run. If you ever wonder what it really looks like to manifest aligned clients, income, and freedom, this is the conversation you've been waiting for. Morgan, welcome to Shine on Success. So my favorite thing I always like to ask at the beginning is what is one thing you want people to know about you before we get started?

SPEAKER_00:

So I think the most important thing to know about me is that I was not always this. Like I was, I have only recently come into who I am and learned that it is okay and safe to be the fabulous best life version of myself. And I did not always look like a little Barbie girl. I have just now given myself permission to show up fully and authentically in the last few years after doing the work that I share with other women. And um, yeah, you can look at pictures from high school to uh for reference. But and the reason I share that is because, you know, life is short and we can be whoever we want to be, period.

SPEAKER_01:

I love that so much. Just starting with that makes me smile because I believe, like you, that we can be whatever we want to be, right? And it's the belief that we have, and a lot of people just don't understand it. So I don't know how old you are, but you came into it at the perfect time because you look amazing. So whatever you're doing, keep doing it. The your energy radiates, it's very beautiful. So thank you for sharing that with me. So you've built multiple aligned businesses, real estate, mentorship, brokerage. What does success feel like to you right now, this minute?

SPEAKER_00:

Oh my gosh. To be honest, uncertain. So I have I have built a few of I have some of my empires, you know, established. I've got my rental property portfolio. I'm actually in the middle of pivoting from uh long-term rental to short term. I want to try out Airbnb or possibly some of the furnish finder and that kind of thing. So that's kind of up in the air right now. My commercial real estate firm and business brokerage is doing great. It's amazing. So that that that business is good and well. But I just wrapped up my first long weekend women's business retreat, and it was so amazing and it just lit me up more than anything I've ever done in my life. I've done day retreats before, and um, I just feel like a little uncertain right now because I've put all my eggs in the Morgan manifest, like one-on-one, kind of I'm the leader, and you're and I either lead a group of women in my online programs or one-on-one clients. And I'm really feeling a little bit more called now, especially after this retreat, to do a little bit more of the in-person stuff, a little bit more of that, like bringing women together and seeing what magic can be made when we're in the same room for a few days, putting our heads together and creating and and leveling up. And so that's why I say uncertain because I don't know what's next, but I know the the way that my path unfolds. Like I don't, I don't need to have it all figured out. I just have to know the nudge. I have to have a little idea, a little calling. And then I just kind of manifest the next right action to take in business, which is not exactly the this typical approach to creating a business plan and having a strategy and all this stuff, but this is what's worked for me so far. And and I'm in one of those those places where I know it's it's about to be on. I'm just not quite sure what's gonna happen next. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

So it's so funny you say that. About probably about four years ago, I went to my very first woman's retreat. And I'm kind of like a boys kind of girl, like I've been the tomboy, you know. I have two sisters, I'm always sticking up for them and spent my whole life being a boy. Yeah, beating up the boys when they mess with my sister. Yeah, all of that. So then one day I went to this retreat in Utah, and I have to tell you, Morgan, it was one of the most amazing weekends I've ever had. And it was just women, and we sat there and we enjoyed each other, and it gave me a new perspective on who I am as a woman. And it's okay to be in that femininity. I can be strong and be feminine, right? So I love that you're sharing that. And I I loved hopefully we get to know each other, and maybe the next one you can invite me to, because I would love to be involved in something like that, a weekend of women manifesting and just being who we are. So thank you for sharing that. So, how do you define manifestation in a way that's practical, not just spiritual?

SPEAKER_00:

Manifesting is about materializing from the inside out. So, what we experience externally is a byproduct of what we are inside, our subconscious beliefs, our energetic frequency, the our point of perception, the filter through our past experiences and our programming, all of this shapes what we experience outside of ourselves. I'm not going to get into quantum physics and all of that. I'm not an expert in that realm, but I do know from trial and error, both in my own life and by observing others, that once you start to be more intentional about your frequency, taking care of your nervous system and ensuring that you have the capacity to be an energetic alignment with whatever it is you're calling in, all of these things add up. And then they do, in fact, help you manifest whatever it is that you have inside externally. So for better or for worse. So I know that was still a little bit woo and ambiguous. The way that I stumbled into manifesting was very much the scientific approach. I'm in commercial real estate, you know, I'm in business brokerage. It's all about the numbers, it's all about data analysis. And the way that I backed into manifesting was the same. I realized that taking the logical approach to success is not going to get the results that I want in my life. The logical approach to success says work harder, do more, get more degrees, get more certifications, win win contests and awards, all those things. Like that's how you get more money, more success. Well, I did all those things and all I got was burnout and extremely lost and miserable and unfulfilled. So then I'm like, okay, let's try some things differently. And let's do kind of the absolute opposite of what I've done before. So that required me to slow down, to learn how to do, to pay attention to my inner being. Like, what's going on in my head? What is this voice telling me? And why is it so ugly and hateful? Why am I beating myself up all the time? No wonder I have, I keep trying to overperform for some boss that doesn't appreciate or respect me. Like this isn't working. So, what's the opposite approach to that? Maybe I need to start to learn how to treat myself with more tenderness and love and care. And with time, taking that alternative approach to success, I'm able to see things differently, set boundaries, set the bar higher for myself. And then the next aligned opportunities just kind of show up in my lap. And next thing I blink my eyes and I'm in a whole new professional reality.

SPEAKER_01:

That's amazing. So you were an art major, right? So that's very creative. I went to art institute. So I feel the creativity. I love the creative part of myself. But your mindset, what was it like back then? And what was the turning point that changed everything? Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, when I was an art major, I was very lost. I just decided to study art because it was something I was good at and I could buy some time to figure out what path I was gonna go down so that I could start making money and getting uh my family's approval and all that society approval, you know, all the things that were I just followed that path, like go to college and then get a master's degree and then go go and work somewhere corporate and get benefits. And I think back in the day, like that wasn't my truth in the first place, in hindsight. Like I'm a leader and I'm an innovator and I'm a business person. I could have totally skipped college, I could have totally like skipped this the conventional path. I mean, I'm not, I don't regret anything. I'm glad that I'm here today doing what I'm doing. But I think the big breaking point, what got me into manifesting was that I just kept feeling called for more and I couldn't figure out how to get it. I kept, once I finished undergrad, I went and got a master's degree in economic geography. And that's what led me to commercial real estate. And like I kept following these pebbles, but then I could not get a job to save my life because I I had no experience. So I'm just like, oh my gosh, like I've I've worked so hard. I've got the master's degree, the real estate license, I did the internships, like I've done all these things, nobody's giving me a chance. And I hit a rock bottom and I'm just like surrender. And this is a beautiful place for us to connect because the thing that made me say, okay, I'm going to open up to this personal development and spirituality and manifesting stuff was when in the same week a friend of mine said, You need to read Think and Grow Rich. And then my dad bought me that book for Christmas without me even asking for it. So that was, yes. So I'll let you chime in on that.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I love that. I love that. And for me, I had it for so long. I had the book forever. And then too thought I can remember the moment that everything shifted for me too. I was someone introduced me to the movie The Secret. And I knew that that was a visual adaptation of, you know, like all of the personal development. And it for me, it I was a visual person. So that moment changed everything for me. I was able to see it and then I understood it better. But yeah, I've been reading Thinking Girl Rich for a very long time, and I study it and I love it, and the mindset and all of the principles of success, I think, should be taught to kids from seventh grade on. That's what I think. But for you, uh, that was a big turning point, right? You all of a sudden you had this idea and then it came to fruition. Your dad buys it for you for Christmas. How cool! Like, kick parents buy your kids thinking you're rich, all of you.

SPEAKER_00:

I don't, I, you know, I honestly I wouldn't be surprised if my dad never read it. But he was in, he was in a in a place in his life where he was he was on a similar path. And I think somebody else had recommended him read that. And um, I think what resonated with him about that book is that we're we're from Southern West Virginia, we're from Appalachia, and just right over the border is where the author is from, believe it or not. So that also, you know, adds a little extra meaning to it for us and our family. But yeah, that book was a game changer, and I'm so thankful for it. And, you know, I was just thinking about it over the weekend because part of the retreat I led was we had the morning mastermind sessions, and I feel like that word's used a lot, but I feel like thinking grow rich is where that term originated. I agree.

SPEAKER_01:

I agree with you, and the mastermind was different, it wasn't just a bunch of people in a room, like they they were connected so many ways. And I think people just use the mastermind as a new thing, right? It's a thing, everybody has a mastermind. The true mastermind would be you and me talking every single day, getting in each other's mind, working together spiritually, mentally, like really focusing on what each other wanted and helping us get there. And imagine Andrew Carnegie, who's amazing, right? And Napoleon Hill and Napoleon Hill's mother uh stepmother. That's his mastermind. There's three people. It wasn't 40 people in a room, you know? So it was just a little different. But the idea of mastermind, I love it. And I love that you did that at a retreat. I bet it was a great time for everyone. How many people were there? It was 12 of us. 12. How great is that? How cool. Yeah, I can't even imagine what you could talk about and how you know how much you learned about each other in that space. But yeah, it's really exciting. So learning about Thinking Grow Rich, and all of a sudden, where did the shift happen? So it changed you, but what was the shift? And do you remember that?

SPEAKER_00:

So the book kind of opened the door to me just going all the way in. Like I I started learning about law of attraction. Abraham Hicks was somebody who was a original thought leader. Bob Proctor, like I just started listening and reading all the material I could get and then testing it out in my own life. So the first thing, the first manifesting tool that I specifically remember having like a very clear effect was Bob Proctor recommended using cards to write down, I'm so happy and grateful now that X has happened. So back then I remember I was like, I'm so happy and grateful now that I make six figures. I'm so happy and grateful now that I don't even remember, honestly, but uh oh each house was one of them. Um anyway, so and and then putting it in vivid detail as if it saying it as if it's already happened, putting it each each desire in vivid detail. And I would sit every morning and I would read these cards and I would visualize each thing and I would try to connect with the feeling of what it would be like once these things manifested. And so that is what got me my first, my first big girl job finally after all this time applying for jobs. And then when I got that job, I realized it wasn't a good fit and I manifested an even better one. And so it was really just this like compounding effect of applying these tools and learning more and applying them. That that is where I started to take off in the manifesting realm. But yeah, I've had like a handful of rock bottoms. I don't know, man. I just I so I when you say when was enough, when was enough enough? I think that I had that like rock bottom when I like couldn't find a job to save my life despite doing all the right things. And then I had another one once I had gone all the way down the road into hustle culture and manifested all the things I wanted. I had the real estate portfolio, I had the job, the income. And you know, on paper, my life was great, but I was so disconnected and unfulfilled. I ended up having a miscarriage. I had to like medicate crap out of myself in order to sleep at night because I was so freaking stressed out and miserable. And so that was another time where like I just had enough is enough. And that was around the end of 2021. I just I was like, I'm done. I'm throwing in the towel. This is there's something better out there for me. I was running someone else's business, they were making decisions I didn't agree with. I helped them grow their team from seven to 30. It was all at my expense. I learned a lot and I, you know, I can't, I can't complain. It was a great three-year experience. And um, I so at that time I just thought, okay, I am going to throw caution to the wind. I'm gonna trust all the things that I've learned and applied so far. And uh one of the things that I did right before I decided, okay, I'm just gonna go out on my own. I'm gonna be a real estate agent. I'm not, I'm just that's it. I'm just gonna go be a real estate agent on my own. I'm gonna I'm and and take it from there. One of the things I teach my students, and I will share with you, is the importance of having people in your realm who you really admire, people who have accomplished the things that you hope to accomplish, the people who have embody the qualities or traits that you hope that you can embody in order to achieve whatever goal it is or manifest whatever it is that you want. So, right before I went out on my own, I reached out to one of my magnetic mirrors and I asked this guy. He was he was a very accomplished attorney, had this estate in Paris. He was retired and just took a business brokerage in his spare time because he was bored being an artist uh in his retirement. It was just like everything I could ever want to be when I grow up in one person. So I had this intuitive download that said, reach out to Steve. So I reached out to Steve and I said, Hey, can I take you to some drinks to pick your brain? I am like freaking out about these this next move in my life. And from that conversation, not only did I get to glean the wisdom from my magnetic mirror, but positive plot twist, he said, Hey Morgan, why don't you open up a commercial real estate firm to pair with my business brokerage? So, and that's that is what manifesting looks like. It's like doing the next right thing, following the nudges, using the tools that you have in your tool belt, and then kind of sitting and and and allowing the universe, God, whatever language you want to use, to reveal the next right thing. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

And be open for it, right? Be open for it to receive. And I think a lot of people aren't and they don't understand they have to open up the receiving end too. Like I'm always giving, giving, giving. And someone said that to me probably about a year ago. You're so used to giving all the time. Let it flow, let it come back. And I was like, Oh wow, like I really hadn't thought about it that way. And it makes sense because I was all I was doing was worrying about everyone else and not myself, you know. So I feel that, right? And I I feel it and I've been studying this stuff and I know it and I know better. But what you said, what Napoleon Hill used to say, seek expert counsel. So in my entire career, you know, I've been doing that without even knowing. But I always surrounded myself with the best in the industry trying to be better, you know? So I I love that. And thank you for sharing that. And I think a lot of things that happen in people's lives is they have money beliefs that really, really hurt them, right? So, how did you rewire yourself to build wealth your way with money? So I don't know, you know, how about your how you grew up or anything like that, but was there a change in you about money?

SPEAKER_00:

For sure. And I I would love to also comment on the giving, giving, giving thing as well, because I do work with a lot of women in business, and that seems to be something common amongst us ladies. But anyway, yeah, so my my money mindset shifts came after I would say this is the third big rock bottom in my life. Yeah, two. Oh, you told me about two. Where's the thing? So the third one was I I went out, I started the commercial real estate firm. I love how these questions are like so online so that I can share the different parts of the story so well. But anyway, so I had when I went out, I started the business. It it grew really quickly. I closed enough deals within a few months to cover my expenses for a year. It was like a total Cinderella story of a manifesting career Cinderella story. And then I would say about six months in, my first friend passed away. And then within two and a half years of being self-employed, I lost over 20 good friends, family members, loved ones, including the people I love most in this world. So I'm going out in business on my own. I'm facing the perils of being self-employed and also losing a bunch of people, facing the grief, and also getting hit with a ton of unexpected expenses all at the same time. I had tenants that I had to evict, like thousands of dollars of property damage, car problems, like just I think I had over$60,000 of unexpected expenses in my first year of self-employment. So while I like manifested all this money, I also like manifested all of these bills at the same time. So yeah, I mean, it was crazy. And I don't even know if that was a rock bottom as much as it was. I mean, I just remember for about a year, like year two of self-employment, I felt like I was crazy. I felt like I was losing my freaking mind because every day it's like, oh, here we go again, somebody else has passed away. Like I didn't even have time to grieve the last person. And so this is where my big money mindset shift happened. I had to, on a daily basis, let go and let God. I had to trust that if I took a week off to go and troubleshoot with my grandparents, figure out what on earth is going on with both of their health problems and take them to doctors and travel out of state and so on and so forth. Like I'm gonna have to trust that the money's still gonna come. Things like the opportunities aren't gonna fall apart. And so that that started to build my like trust muscle with God, with the universe to to know, like, okay, when I do the right thing for myself, when I follow my heart's callings, I'm gonna be okay no matter what. And so not only was I during this time applying some of the the tools and the techniques that I I mentor, teach my mentoring students about, but um, so I was able to continue to stay magnetic despite having so much hardship. But where I knew about manifesting, I was confident in my manifesting abilities then, but I think the money thing, like that was the final straw. It's like once you face death that many times, money isn't that really that big of a deal. And once you can you face that level of loss, once again, like like money just loses its power. So then, I mean, that was a couple of years ago, and since then, I have really been adamant about carrying that awareness with me every single day, treating every day like it is a miracle because it is life, it is very precious and fragile, and deciding on a daily basis that money is not my God anymore. And so just sometimes I have to make that decision a hundred times a day because it's easy. Money is money is deeply ingrained as a sense of security. Money is ingrained in pro my sense of self-worth to some degree too. As somebody who owns themselves being a manifesting mentor, I feel like I need to have money to back up this claim, you know? And so, but then I realized like, no, like the manifesting mentoring, I could lose everything I have and I will have it back again in a matter of time because you can't take away the wealth that I have. And that is the belief, the faith, the understanding, the trust in the universe, the confidence, all of those things. Like, so that is the real wealth. And once I have that, money doesn't matter as much anymore either.

SPEAKER_01:

I am so 100% with you. So I thought in two years when I in 2024, I lost my company completely devastated, and 14 people in two years, which was very similar, right? And then since then, you know, my dad, my husband has a liver trans, like it keeps coming, and I keep understanding that, you know, all of these things that I go through just makes me stronger and better, and that, you know, that I can share my stories to help other people. And so I live like that now. But all of that taught me so much about life and death and about, you know, living every moment. And so since that point, like I don't worry either because I know if I burned the boats and there I had my company was gone and my 200 agents were gone, and I had no other choice, I'd be all right. I'll pick up the pieces and do it again. So, you know, I know that, but I've been through a lot too, and just listening to you things just reminds me of wow, so many people have gone. And you know, my partner said to me one day, you've been through a lot of trauma, you know, and I I I don't know why. Like sometimes you I don't know, in the Bible they talk about Job and all the things he went through. Sometimes you start feeling like a modern day Job, right? But hey, his was way worse, so I'll take mine over his. But anyways, it's so much. And but I do have that belief that I know that everything's going to be all right because I believe in myself enough and I believe and I have enough faith that it will pull me through. So thank you for sharing that. That was that was amazing. And you know, it's life is I mean, some people just get it a little bit harder, you know.

SPEAKER_00:

But you know, I I just I really believe I didn't I I had a really rough childhood. I mean, I I hated myself. I was suicidal by the time I entered college. Like I I am it's a miracle I'm here today. And I know that's probably unbelievable given the energy and vibrance that that I bring to the table now. But I in hindsight, every single trauma, pain, every single negative plot twist, like all the all the hardship, all of all of that has all been an invitation for me to reconnect with God and to reconnect to the divine parts of myself. And in hindsight, like I realize that, and I know a lot of people, they see the obstacles, the plot twists, and that kind of thing as like a reason to give up or to believe that they're broken or something along those lines. But really, to me, when we have pain and we have a calling for something and we don't go for it because we're afraid of the pain or the fear of the unknown or the uncertainty. Like when we face the pain and faith and trust in God, that's where the real magnetism comes from. And that's where the real transformation comes from when we learn that the things that we're afraid of, the things that are scary aren't really that bad in the first place. Then we start to peel back the layers of barriers between where we are now and where we want to be. And also you start to realize, like, yes, thing bad things happen. I'm something bad could happen tomorrow, and then I might have to take a week off to grieve something else. Like I know that's a part of life. Like life isn't always rainbows and sunshine, but I also know that whenever something really hard and terrible happens, that it's going to be shaping me for the better in the grand scheme of things. So I don't sweat it quite as much. Like I don't get my boat rocked as much as I used to by the waves of life. And that once again, like that is wealth, you know? Like that is that is invaluable.

SPEAKER_01:

One of my friends told me we were talking about it, and he said, you know, I get really excited for the for the bad things to happen because I know on the other side of it is something amazing, and I all right. And I it's so I changed my I shifted me that just talking to him that day, and I thought, that makes so much sense because there's always light in darkness, right? There always is. And yeah, I know I saw that. I thought that was super cool. Child of light. So there always is, no matter how hard it is. You just have to be willing to wait for it, search for it, and it's gonna be there. But some people don't get back up off the ground, and I've I've always got back up, and it's been hard. My childhood wasn't like that. I had my parents, I loved them so dearly. We had such a great relationship, but you know, I lived in a trailer court and people made fun of me and they, you know, sprayed on the pa uh church steps bad things about me, you know. So the trailer trash thing carried on through my life. I lost my baby brother when he when I was a year and three months old, and I felt that. So I know, I know how it felt. That's why I never had kids. So, like all this stuff has built me to who I am today, you know, and I couldn't be more grateful for all of it. You know, I wish I wish some people were still here. I wish my dad was still here. I'm thankful my husband made it through a liver transplant. It's been amazing. But I've helped so many people in the last two years with my grief that it's just it's beautiful what you can do if you share and and help want to help people. Like I want people to learn. I don't want them to go through it and not have somebody. And so if that's what God's doing for me, is giving me the sh the heavy shoulders to carry, then so be it. So I mean, yeah, I mean we we share some similarities for sure. And you know, I feel like when I'm sitting here, as much as I think I know, I always can learn more. And you know, sitting listening to you and your take on it, right? Because we all have a different take on things. I read Think and Grow Rich, I read it for the business side. And then finally I got, you know, learn things like seeking expert counsel and always knowing that there's, you know, something beneficial in every negative. There's always is like I've learned all of that, but you're reminding me, and I and I do appreciate it so much. And I would ask you this what kind of women do you feel most called to serve right now?

SPEAKER_00:

I am most called to serve women who have a soul-level calling to do something in business or professionally that feel like there's a little bit of disconnect or hesitation, I guess. So I I really, really want to help serve women who feel called for more, who have something that they want to create or put out into the world and they need a little bit of extra support bridging the gap, or the women who feel called for more and are feeling like they've plateaued, specifically when it comes to money. That is my my passion because we have been in the sidelines too long and it is it is our time. The time is now for women to really. Claim their power. And um, I think the reason I'm so lit up by the soul-called women in business specifically is because that's who I am and that's who I attract. And when you soul-called women in business are fulfilling your callings, this world is going to be infinitely a better place.

SPEAKER_01:

So that's that. So what is one message you would share with the women listening who feels who feel like they're stuck behind or unsure if they're ready for that next step that you're talking about? What's the good message you want to lead them with?

SPEAKER_00:

If you're not sure about what to do next, if you feel like maybe you are called towards something, but you're you're not quite sure how to figure out how to get there, or if you are maybe it's scary, like you know what the next right thing is, but it you're too scared to take that leap. That's okay. You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to surrender that desire, that want to your higher power. You have to be willing to get in that receiving mode instead of being in your head trying to figure it all out and or um in your head thinking about all the things that go can go wrong and that kind of thing. Like you don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to receive the next right steps and act on them when you are called. And so that I hope can provide some relief because once again, like life will unfold accordingly if you will get out of your own way and let it do its thing. But you have to be willing to let go and let God in order to really break through and and get that that desire, especially if it's scary.

SPEAKER_01:

Especially if thank you for sharing that. So, you know, your truth, your clarity, your alignment, it's just bursting. If people could see you right now, they would see what I see. And it's beautiful. So keep being you, Morgan, because it's it's amazing what you offer to this world. And I know people out there are feeling like they're stuck and they need some help. And, you know, what how can they get a hold of you if you're a woman and you believe in what's possible for you, then I know this is worth every second of listening to. So how can they find you and get a hold of you?

SPEAKER_00:

So you can go to Morganmanifest.com slash free, and I have some freebies on there for you, including an alignment audit. And this is an exercise I created to help you to really start to look at the different aspects of your life to see what is really aligned with my truth, and then help strategize for ways to bring more of that light, that that enthusiasm and that magnetism to your life while also starting to peel back some of the stuff that isn't really aligned with you, your truth, and where you're where you're trying to go. So, yes, once again, Morganmanifest.com slash free, and you can find me on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Morgan Manifests.

And I know you've been through a lot, and I'm so happy that you see the other side like I do. So thank you. Thanks for having me.
